Welcome to my 2023 Level Up Challenge. My name is Sherra Danielle. I am a 40 something trying to navigate life after being told life gets better in your 40s. Then realizing whoever said that didn’t know I and the rest of the world was about to go through a global pandemic as I entered into my 40s. I have decided to level up my 2023 and take back my joy. If you are like me you have spent the last 3 years stuck in life how it was in 2019 trying to pivot to life after the pandemic. However, you don’t quite know how to start especially after you have spent the last 3 years experiencing grief, isolation, drama, depression, anxiety, and the list goes on and on. Well join me as I attempt to get back on track. I know going into this there will be days I want to give up or days I will slip up but the most important thing to do on this challenge is to get back up and give it another try even if that means restarting over.
Nothing happens by chance and I think there is a reason you are reading this right now. It’s time to Level Up and receive all God has for us. Join me on this challenge to help you level up in 2023.
Here are some tips to help you get started:
- Start small: Choose a realistic goal that you can work towards. For example, you could start off with a goal of walking 10,000 steps in a day and gradually increase your goal over time. For me I am going to walk at least 30 minutes a day. When the weather permits I will walk outside to get some natural Vitamin D to help boost my mood especially in these winter months. I picked 10 things covering various aspect of my life to help me not feel overwhelmed with a long list of goals. **My list is a guide to get you started but take a minute to make this personal to you. Feel free to modify my list to fit your personal goals and lifestyle. **
- Set a timeline: Decide how long you want your challenge to last and set a timeline for yourself. This will help you stay motivated and keep track of your progress. The goal is to level up all of 2023 but as I said start small and create small realistic goals each month rather than trying to tackle everything all at once. Check out my list here. Each month I will drop a new challenge so make sure you check back to get the new list.
- Track your progress: If you don’t write it down you can’t track your progress. Also, on days you are feeling down or feel like your goals are unattainable it helps to look over your progress. While I know there are lot of apps on your phone to track progress old school journals/notebooks help you a little better by writing it out. Especially when you are creating prayer journals and you can look back on various scriptures. If you prefer technology I encourage you to download a good app that will help you track your goals. Here is a list of apps to help with your various goals.
- Have fun: Make your challenge more enjoyable by listening to music, finding a walking buddy, or joining this challenge. If you look at your goals as work then you will quickly get off track. I decided to do this challenge to help me have fun with crushing my 2023 goals. Sign up to my weekly newsletter for tips to help you stay on track and keep it fun!
- Celebrate your success: Celebrate your successes along the way and reward yourself for reaching your goals. Don’t wait until the end to celebrate your wins. If it was a challenge to get up and do your 30 mins of movement for the day then celebrate achieving that goal and reward yourself with something that will help encourage you to do your 30 mins the next day! Also, take a moment to find a good supportive tribe to help you celebrate your wins! You don’t always have to treat yourself when you achieve success with an item. Just telling someone who is supportive and rooting for you is a celebration in itself.
Good luck on your Level 2023 challenge and Let’s Gooooo!
