How To Throw a Easy Galentine’s Day Party

Unless you have been living under a rock the last few years, then you know celebrating Galentine’s Day is a must for your most cherished Gal Pals in February. Galentine’s Day is an unofficial holiday that is celebrated on February 13 the day before Valentine’s Day to celebrate your girls! It is a made up holiday from the show Parks and Recreation but it doesn’t matter because any reason to celebrate your closest female friends is a good idea. The past few years it has become a commercial holiday that you see flooded across social media and at your retailers. Here are 3 essential things you need to throw together a quick Galentine’s Day Party for your closet Gal Pals.

Theme

If you have ever been to an event or party thrown by me you know I love a good theme.  Picking a theme helps your pictures look cohesive. As well as it sets the tone for your event. There is nothing worse than envisioning a fancy party and someone shows up in jeans. Also, not everyone knows what to wear so setting a theme helps them to see your vision or at least come in the right colors. For this year’s Galentine’s Party we decided to go with a sequins theme. For this theme we all wore sequins but we coordinated the colors with shades of pink and white to compliment the pink hues of the Valentine’s Season. Your themes don’t just have to be colors or based on your outfit, you can pick themes like Breakfast at Tiffany’s or Paris especially since Emily in Paris is a hot show right now. Keep in mind if it is last minute think of colors everyone will have in their closest like a LBD (Little Black Dress).

Decor

Once you have your theme then go all out with decor that helps bring to life your theme. Remember you don’t have to break the bank. Head over to your local dollar store and grab up some cute Valentine’s Day decor before they are gone. It’s the little details like fresh flowers or cute napkins and plates that help bring your party together.

You also can’t forget the balloons. I headed over to the Dollar Tree and made a bouquet of Pink and Red Balloons to complete our theme. Our party was a joint effort so everyone brought something to add to the decor. However, if you don’t want to ask people to bring decor head over to either your local Dollar Tree, Home Goods, Target, or Walmart for all your decor needs depending on your budget.

Cheese, Wine, and Something Sweet

No matter if you are having brunch or dinner. A good ole Charcuterie Board and variety of wines are a must. I am the Charcuterie Board Queen of our crew so I made a board for our gathering. There are plenty of companies you can purchase one from if you don’t feel comfortable making your own. Also, some grocery stores are starting to make pre-made cheese plates. You just need a cute board like this heart shaped one I found at TJ Maxx to make it look festive.

To take the burden off the host. Ask everyone to bring their favorite bottle of wine so you get a variety of wines that everyone will drink.

Of course when we talk about sweets you have to include all the cute selection of heart shaped and pink and white desserts available this time of year at your local grocery store.

Now all you need is a good playlist and let the festivities begin. You can get fancy and bring out games or you can keep it simple and just catch up with your girls.
